About the Role

Mediclinic Stellenbosch is seeking a compassionate and motivated Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary to join our dedicated Pediatric Unit. This role offers the opportunity to provide essential nursing care to young patients in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.

As an Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary, you will play a vital role in delivering safe, basic nursing care aligned with your professional scope of practice. You will contribute to patient safety, well-being, and a positive care environment while gaining valuable experience in one of South Africa’s most respected healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver basic, quality nursing care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team

• Support infection prevention protocols and report potential patient safety risks

• Promote a therapeutic and positive patient experience

• Accurately document all nursing interventions and observations

• Ensure responsible use and recording of medical supplies and equipment

• Contribute to a learning culture and share knowledge to improve team capability

Qualifications & Experience

Required Education

• Essential: Higher Certificate in Nursing (or equivalent qualification)

• Desired: Completion of CPD (Continuous Professional Development) courses in relevant speciality areas

Required Experience

• Essential: None required (ideal for recently qualified nursing auxiliaries)

• Desired: At least 1 year of post-qualification experience, preferably in a pediatric or hospital setting

Skills & Competencies

• Strong patient observation and reporting skills

• Understanding of nursing procedures and scientific nursing processes

• Knowledge of infection prevention and control practices

• Familiarity with relevant healthcare legislation and scope of practice regulations

• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite)

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
