π― Role Purpose
The Enterprise Supplier Manager leads the organisationβs enterprise-level supplier portfolio, ensuring that supplier relationships, performance, and compliance meet strategic, regulatory, and operational standards. This role blends governance, commercial strategy, risk management, and relationship building to drive value and safeguard the business.
You will oversee supplier governance frameworks, ensure alignment across business units, and act as the central liaison for strategic suppliers across Woolworths Financial Services and Absa Group.
π Key Responsibilities
π‘οΈ 1. Risk & Governance Oversight

Monitor supplier activities across business units.

Ensure alignment to supplier management standards and templates.
-
Coordinate contract handovers and maintain supplier exit strategies.
-
Maintain the supplier management repository and ensure data accuracy.

Publish guidance notes, templates, and control documentation.
-
Participate in Absa Supplier Risk Governance forums.

Support governance maturity through ongoing training and assurance checks.
πΌ 2. Commercial & Value Management
-
Lead post-contract commercial management strategies.
-
Identify opportunities for cost savings, innovation, and value creation.

Guide supplier managers on commercial controls and demand management.
-
Work with suppliers to deliver measurable financial and service-based benefits.

Monitor invoice validation processes and ensure contractual compliance.
π€ 3. Relationship Management
-
Develop engagement models and annual activity plans.
-
Facilitate alignment between suppliers and business unit objectives.
-
Manage key supplier interactions, escalation processes, and strategic collaboration.
-
Support cross-functional activities between sourcing, business units, and suppliers.
β οΈ 4. Risk Management & Compliance
-
Enforce compliance with third-party risk and sourcing policies.
-
Conduct periodic reviews, assessments, and risk controls.
-
Manage concentration risks and ensure BCM adherence.
-
Escalate exceptions and risk events to the appropriate executives.
-
Ensure procurement arrangements are controlled, validated, and compliant.
π 5. Contracts Management
-
Ensure contracts align with policy, risk frameworks, and SCOs.
-
Oversee contract renewals, regulatory alignment, and annual reviews.
-
Ensure segmentation assessments are current and accurate.
-
Manage contract changes, renewals, and supplier documentation requirements.
π 6. Supplier Performance & Delivery

Ensure contracts include clear SLAs and performance measures.
-
Participate in supplier performance reviews and cost management sessions.
-
Oversee remediation of performance gaps and ensure annual renewals.
π 7. Reporting & Analytics
-
Produce weekly and monthly supplier performance dashboards.
-
Upload evidence and documentation to the central repository.
-
Participate in group supplier management forums.
-
Synthesize supplier data for executive reporting and decision-making.
π Qualifications
π Minimum Requirements
-
Bachelorβs Degree (NQF Level 7) in a relevant field.
-
5β8 years’ experience in Supplier & Contract Management.
-
Experience in financial services (banking).
π‘ Preferred
-
Postgraduate qualification in Business Management.
-
Strong knowledge of vendor management and commercial value creation.
-
Experience with GFAs, SFAs, VAs, and FOOs.
-
Strong understanding of end-to-end sourcing frameworks.
