As part of our commitment to building exceptional workplaces, we’re looking for a skilled and passionate Employee Relations (ER) Specialist to join our Groceries Division in Randfontein. You’ll report directly to the ER Executive and play a critical role in fostering constructive labor relations and ensuring legal compliance.
What You’ll Be Doing
As an ER Specialist, you will serve as a trusted expert on all employee relations matters across the division. You will:

Provide expert advisory support to line managers and staff on all ER issues, including disciplinary processes, grievances, and complaints.

Drive consistency and fairness in ER practices, aligned with labour law, company values, and internal HR policies.

Support complex investigations and ensure timely resolution of disputes and workplace conflict.

Participate in union negotiations, consultations, and maintain productive, respectful relationships with union representatives.

Coach and train line managers on ER procedures, people management, conflict resolution, and compliance best practices.

Lead organisational change initiatives from an ER standpoint, ensuring smooth transitions.

Represent RCL Foods at external forums such as the CCMA or Bargaining Councils where necessary.

Monitor and report on ER trends by compiling data and metrics to support strategic decision-making.

Foster a positive work environment through proactive engagement and culture-building initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
Education & Experience:
-
A Degree or B-Tech in Human Resources; an Honours degree in Labour Law is a plus.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Employee Relations or HR, preferably in a unionised and manufacturing environment.
Skills & Competencies:
-
Strong knowledge of South African employment and labour legislation, case law, and CCMA procedures.

Experience in union engagement and collective bargaining.

Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

High attention to detail and confidentiality.
