Are you passionate about public finance and budget management? The Western Cape Government’s Provincial Treasury is hiring a dedicated and analytical Expenditure Analyst to contribute to the development, implementation, and monitoring of sustainable budgeting processes across the province.

🧾 What You Will Do:

✅ Support the execution of a credible and sustainable main and adjustment budget
✅ Compile and maintain the Consolidated Provincial In-Year Monitoring (IYM) model
✅ Monitor monthly and quarterly expenditure patterns and compile narrative reports
✅ Assist in the revenue retention and rollover processes
✅ Contribute to the adjustment and main budget evaluation
✅ Provide technical support and training to stakeholders
✅ Handle policy-related responsibilities in line with financial regulations

🎯 What You Need To Apply:

✔ Minimum Requirements:
🎓 An Advanced Diploma or B-Degree (or higher) in:
    • Finance
    • Public Finance
    • Financial/Management Accounting
    • Auditing
    • Economics
📆 At least 3 years’ experience in a financial management environment

✔ Recommended:
📌 Strong background in Public Sector Finance

🧠 Key Competencies & Skills:

📚 Knowledge of:

• PFMA, NTRs, and Treasury Directives

• DORA and conditional grants

• MTEF and Adjustments Budget processes

• Public financial reporting mechanisms

• Vulindlela system and SCOA structures

🧩 Skills:

• Excellent organisational and planning abilities

• Advanced MS Office skills and web-based tools

• Strong verbal and written communication

• Technical writing and financial reporting
