JOB OVERVIEW

  • The Facilities Management Intern will support the facilities unit with daily operational activities.

  • This internship offers practical exposure to asset management, fleet coordination, workplace safety, and facilities administration.

  • The role is ideal for graduates seeking structured workplace learning within a public sector environment.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with day-to-day facilities management operations.

  • Support coordination of repairs, maintenance, and external service providers.

  • Assist with vehicle fleet management, including usage monitoring, service scheduling, and record keeping.

  • Monitor workplace health, safety, and environmental compliance.

  • Maintain asset registers for furniture and office equipment.

  • Support space planning initiatives and office relocations.

  • Provide general administrative support to the facilities team.


QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Minimum NQF Level 7 qualification in Facilities Management.

Experience

  • No prior work experience required (internship role).

Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Good organisational and time management abilities.

  • High attention to detail.

  • Problem-solving mindset with willingness to learn.

  • Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
