Job Overview

The Finance & Admin Management Graduate will be based at the Johannesburg Distribution Centre and will support financial, administrative, and workforce-related functions across DC operations. This role provides exposure to cost management, financial reporting, supplier coordination, and operational finance processes within a high-volume logistics environment.

The programme is designed to develop graduates into finance professionals capable of operating in complex, fast-paced business environments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Finance team to track and manage distribution centre-related expenses

  • Capture and process invoices for consumables, stationery, uniforms, labour, and ad hoc costs

  • Reconcile all Purchase Orders at month-end and ensure accurate accrual processing

  • Liaise with the Finance team on supplier queries, including remittances, non-payments, and urgent payments

  • Distribute weekly timesheets to Labour Brokers and validate payroll-related queries

  • Maintain accurate employee and attendance data within the Biometrics system

  • Assist with preparation of the monthly DC income statement and month-end journals

  • Support accurate cost allocation through financial reporting and analysis

  • Prepare cost variance analyses, dashboards, and reports highlighting trends and improvement opportunities

  • Support workforce planning, including weekly timesheet preparation for HOD approvals and invoicing

  • Identify and propose cost reduction initiatives while maintaining operational productivity

  • Assist with ad hoc finance and administration tasks as required

  • Support month-end and year-end financial processes linked to DC operations


Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field

Experience

  • No prior work experience required

  • Exposure to finance, accounting, administration, or logistics environments will be advantageous

Skills

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace, and financial systems

  • Strong time-management and organisational skills

  • Proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work collaboratively under pressure
