Role Overview: Finance Clerk
Premier is looking for a Finance Clerk to join our finance team in Springs, Gauteng. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with internal controls, and managing various financial functions such as stock management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll administration. If you have 1-2 years of experience in finance or administration and are passionate about financial accuracy and reporting, this is an exciting opportunity for you!
Key Responsibilities
As a Finance Clerk, your daily tasks will include:
π Financial Reporting & Control:
- Accurately record and report all financial transactions.
- Maintain compliance with internal controls and reporting procedures.
- Prepare month-end accruals and balance intercompany loan accounts.
- Generate stock variance reports, open payables, and debtors age analysis.
π Stock Management & Asset Control:
- Support asset management to prevent theft by implementing effective stock management controls.
- Ensure accurate stock reconciliation processes.
π΅ Accounts & Payroll Administration:
- Manage transactions related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Assist the Site Accountant in managing outsourced labor costs through regular reporting.
- Help drive cost management improvements and support waste reduction initiatives.
π Cost Tracking & Reporting:
- Track and report on waste and conversion rates at the site level to ensure adherence to corporate guidelines and budget.
- Provide valuable insights and recommendations for cost-saving opportunities.
π Record-Keeping & Documentation:
- Ensure that all financial documentation is properly filed and maintained.
- Keep accurate records in line with financial policies and controls.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for the Finance Clerk role, you must meet the following criteria:
π Qualifications:
- Matric (Essential)
- Financial Diploma or equivalent (Essential)
- Financial Degree (Preferred)
πΌ Experience:
- 1-2 years of experience in finance or administration
- Familiarity with bookkeeping principles and financial controls within the FMCG industry.
- Experience in payroll processing, accruals, and variance analysis.
Skills & Competencies
To succeed in this position, the following skills and competencies are crucial:

- Advanced Excel for financial reporting and data analysis.
- Strong understanding of stock reconciliation and financial controls.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.
- Proficiency in writing and reporting financial documents.

- Payroll processing and accruals processing experience.
- Ability to track and report on SOP control points.
- Strong organizational skills for accurate filing and documentation.

- Ability to work under pressure, especially during month-end processes.
