Job Overview

The Finance Clerk will support Management Accountants by ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial transactions, with a strong focus on inventory, reconciliations, and reporting.

This role is suited for early-career finance professionals who are detail-oriented and eager to gain experience in a manufacturing and inventory-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management

Review and investigate daily shipments and variances
Maintain and update Bills of Materials (BOM)
Conduct production walkthroughs to verify packaging usage
Perform weekly inventory testing and bin location checks
Analyse stock returns (expired or damaged goods)
Prepare production schedules and compare with reports
Perform stock reconciliations for warehouse operations

Financial & General Ledger

Perform general ledger reconciliations (consumables & engineering stock)
Support bank processing on INFOR LN
Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Fixed Assets

Conduct fixed asset verifications
Assist with asset movements and disposals

Creditors & Administration

Capture creditor invoices
Perform creditor reconciliations
Handle ad-hoc finance tasks as required

Qualifications

Education

Grade 12 (Matric)
Postgraduate qualification in Finance or Accounting

Experience

Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in a similar finance role

Skills

Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, BAAN, Infor LN advantageous)
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Strong integrity and self-motivation
