Job Overview
The Finance Clerk will support Management Accountants by ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial transactions, with a strong focus on inventory, reconciliations, and reporting.
This role is suited for early-career finance professionals who are detail-oriented and eager to gain experience in a manufacturing and inventory-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management
- Review and investigate daily shipments and variances
- Maintain and update Bills of Materials (BOM)
- Conduct production walkthroughs to verify packaging usage
- Perform weekly inventory testing and bin location checks
- Analyse stock returns (expired or damaged goods)
- Prepare production schedules and compare with reports
- Perform stock reconciliations for warehouse operations
Financial & General Ledger
- Perform general ledger reconciliations (consumables & engineering stock)
- Support bank processing on INFOR LN
- Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Fixed Assets
- Conduct fixed asset verifications
- Assist with asset movements and disposals
Creditors & Administration
- Capture creditor invoices
- Perform creditor reconciliations
- Handle ad-hoc finance tasks as required
Qualifications
Education
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Postgraduate qualification in Finance or Accounting
Experience
- Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in a similar finance role
Skills
- Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, BAAN, Infor LN advantageous)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong integrity and self-motivation
