π― Role Overview
The Finance Clerk β OFFICE Banking is responsible for overseeing foreign banking operations, supporting banking systems, and completing month-end banking processes. Reporting to the Finance Manager: OFFICE Banking and Treasury, this role requires a detail-oriented professional who can manage multiple deadlines, resolve discrepancies, and maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
π οΈ Key Responsibilities
π° Bank & GL Reconciliation

Reconcile all company bank and GL accounts within stipulated timelines.

Identify, resolve, and report on discrepancies promptly.
π Foreign Banking Operations
-
Liaise with foreign banks (e.g., Lloyds, HSBC) regarding charges and queries.

Incorporate new business developments, such as new stores, bank accounts, acquisitions, or tender types, into daily reconciliation processes.
π Month-End & Reporting
-
Complete banking month-end processes accurately and on time.

Track accounts, balance transactions, and generate reports using Oracle banking software.
π€ Stakeholder Engagement

Collaborate with internal departments (Payroll, Customer Services, Tax, Accounts Payable) to reconcile bank statement lines.

Support the banking team during absences and provide stand-in assistance.

Liaise with internal and external auditors as required.
β KPI & Process Compliance

Ensure all KPIs are met.

Follow company policies and procedures for collecting documentation and resolving queries.
π Minimum Requirements
π Qualifications & Experience
-
Matric plus relevant work experience. Post-matric qualifications are advantageous.

Experience in finance or retail finance processes preferred.

Familiarity with bank reconciliations, foreign currency transactions, bank card queries, and resolving discrepancies.

Technical:

Reconciliation of foreign currency bank accounts across multiple jurisdictions.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Ability to coordinate month-end banking functions accurately.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.

Confident interaction with superiors and banking institutions.
