Job Overview

The Finance Technology Intern will support the Group Finance Technologies (GFT) team by assisting with finance-related system processes, reporting, controls, and analysis. This internship provides hands-on exposure to finance systems, period-end processes, audit support, and technology-enabled finance operations.

This opportunity is ideal for finance graduates who are detail-oriented, process-driven, and interested in how systems and data support financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Support end-to-end Group Finance process flows
Assist with period-end and year-end finance activities
Understand transaction lifecycles from source to financial reporting
Support logging, tracking, and resolution of finance system queries
Perform root-cause analysis for recurring finance or system issues
Assist with control execution, evidence collection, and documentation
Support internal and external audit requests
Participate in testing, validation, and system change activities
Update process documentation and user guides
Identify opportunities for standardisation, automation, and process improvement
Support client-facing finance system processes while maintaining confidentiality

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) in Accounting or Finance

Experience

No prior work experience required

Skills

Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
Basic understanding of financial accounting principles
Knowledge of period-end concepts such as accruals, journals, and reconciliations
Logical, structured problem-solving ability
Comfort working with numbers, data sets, and financial systems
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Ability to follow documented procedures and governance frameworks
Professional conduct, confidentiality, and reliability
