📌 Internship Overview:

As a Financial Management Intern, you will work under the direct supervision of the Head of the Middle Income Country Hub (MIC-Hub) within the East and Southern Africa Regional Office (ESARO). This exciting opportunity will give you first-hand exposure to policy research, programme development, and sustainable financing in support of several Southern African countries, including:

  • Botswana

  • Eswatini

  • Mauritius

  • Namibia

  • Seychelles

  • South Africa

🌟 Key Responsibilities:

  • Research & Analysis: Track political, economic, and social trends related to reproductive health, gender equality, and population dynamics in select middle-income countries.

  • Policy Support: Assist with the creation of policy briefs, reports, and other documentation aligned with the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) Programme of Action.

  • Programme Implementation: Contribute to the design, delivery, and evaluation of technical cooperation initiatives focused on sustainable financing and national development planning.

  • Event Coordination: Help organize MIC-Hub training sessions, stakeholder consultations, and conferences.

  • General Assistance: Support a variety of ad-hoc tasks that contribute to the success of the MIC-Hub’s objectives.

🎓 Internship Requirements:

Applicants must meet one of the following academic criteria:

  • Recently graduated with a university degree from a recognized institution.

  • Enrolled in the final academic year of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent at a recognized university.

  • Enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme (e.g., master’s or higher).

  • Enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship programme and undertaking the internship as part of that programme.
