Job Title: Financial Planner

Location: Pretoria, Lynnwood
Position Type: Permanent

Role Purpose

The purpose of the role is to provide new and existing clients with professional and relevant financial advice, planning, and products (sales) that are suited to their needs and requirements. The role involves procuring sustainable business of high quality, maintaining long-term client relationships, and adhering to ethical and compliant practices to build and sustain the Sanlam Group business and brand.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Growth:
   • Commit to marketing plans and targets for business growth.
   • Apply market segmentation and customer profile knowledge.
   • Undertake activities to meet revenue generation and activity quotas.
   • Promote the Sanlam brand and ensure client engagements are fair.
2. Networking and Leads Generation:
   • Engage in face-to-face interactions to create business opportunities.
   • Prospect new clients through networks and presentations.
   • Convert trusted relationships into business relationships.
   • Increase service to existing relationships and identify opportunities across Sanlam businesses.
   • Use social media for marketing and generate leads through client-focused activities.
3. Client Consultations and Sales:
   • Ensure compliance in client interactions.
   • Conduct comprehensive fact-finding and financial needs analysis.
   • Provide sound financial planning advice and present financial solutions.
   • Use system tools to capture information and update records.
   • Review clients’ portfolios annually.
4. Client Service:
   • Ensure ethical, courteous, and professional client interactions.
   • Resolve business queries promptly with back-office support.
   • Provide excellent service to retain clients and avoid competitor products.
   • Maintain continuous learning for better client service.
   • Initiate and maintain long-term client relationships.
5. Monitoring and Reporting:
   • Document and present activities, including contacts, appointments, consultations, and revenue against targets.
   • Update client details and maintain appropriate workflow and activity monitoring.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: Grade 12
• Certification: Compliance with Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act (FAIS) “Fit and Proper” requirements and successful completion of Regulatory Examination if registered with Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) for more than 24 months.
