About the Role

Key Responsibilities

Budget Support & Coordination

  • Assist in preparing and consolidating the annual budget.
  • Collect financial data from various departments for budgeting.
  • Work closely with the CFO, Head of FP&A, and other leaders to ensure budget accuracy.

Rolling Forecast Management

  • Maintain and update the rolling forecast to reflect business activities.
  • Gather and analyze relevant financial data to support forecasting.

Financial Analysis & Reporting

  • Conduct detailed financial analysis to support decision-making.
  • Prepare budget variance reports for senior management review.
  • Provide insights into cost efficiencies and financial feasibility.

Cost Monitoring & Efficiency Optimization

  • Track departmental spending against the approved budget.
  • Identify and recommend cost-saving measures and efficiency improvements.

Strategic Financial Planning

  • Support long-term financial scenario modeling and strategic planning.
  • Develop financial models to enhance budget tracking and forecasting.

Technology & System Utilization

  • Utilize financial software (Accpac/Sage, TM1/IBM Analytics, Microsoft 365).
  • Ensure data integrity within financial systems.
  • Assist in implementing new financial planning tools.

Training & Professional Development

  • Participate in financial training programs.
  • Learn from senior managers about best practices in budgeting and forecasting.

Ad Hoc Financial Projects

  • Collaborate with finance business partners on special projects.
  • Use storytelling techniques to present financial data effectively.

Required Qualifications & Skills

🎓 Education:

  • A Finance, Business, or Quantitative degree (Honours level preferred).
  • Relevant certifications are highly advantageous.

💼 Experience:

  • 2-3 years of experience in revenue/cost analysis and budget control.
  • 5-6 years in finance, accounting, or management accounting roles.
  • Experience in medium to large organizations preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and cost/profitability systems.

🖥️ Technical Skills:

  • Accpac/Sage (Advanced)
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced)
  • TM1/IBM Analytics
  • MS 365 knowledge (Advantageous)
