🛠 What You’ll Be Doing

Planned & Predictive Maintenance

• Carry out scheduled and emergency maintenance to minimize plant downtime.

• Execute mechanical repairs, adjustments, and installations using appropriate hand and power tools.

• Analyze and modify equipment for improved performance.

• Inspect equipment for defects or hazards and ensure compliance with safety codes.

Mechanical Systems

• Ensure all installations and repairs meet engineering standards.

• Interpret engineering drawings and implement accordingly.

• Maintain and assemble machines, tools, and subassemblies including welding or brazing parts.

• Operate mechanical machines (e.g., lathes, milling, shaping).

Fault Finding & Repairs

• Quickly identify and troubleshoot mechanical faults.

• Execute efficient repairs to restore equipment functionality.

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Adhere strictly to Occupational Health & Safety Act and company protocols.

• Promote a zero-harm workplace with adherence to safety practices and PPE usage.

Governance

• Maintain integrity and compliance with internal policies and broader governance frameworks like Competition Law and the company Code of Ethics.

📜 Minimum Requirements

• Matric (Grade 12)

• National Certificate: Mechanical Engineering – Fitting Level 3

• Completed apprenticeship and passed Trade Test in Mechanical Engineering (Fitting)

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a mechanical environment

• Sound mechanical theory and diagnostics experience

• Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

🌟 Ideal Candidate Will Also Have

• 5+ years mechanical experience

• National Certificate: Mechanical Engineering – Fitting Level 4

• Strong fault-finding, diagnostic and analytical skills

• Ability to read technical drawings and flow diagrams

• Capability to work under pressure with excellent time management
