Programme Overview

The Flyfofa Remote Pilot Training Programme is a fully accredited training initiative designed to prepare candidates for certification as professional drone pilots. The programme provides comprehensive training in both theoretical knowledge and practical flight operations, ensuring that participants meet all SACAA regulatory requirements.

Successful candidates will undergo classroom-based instruction, hands-on drone flight training, and internal and external SACAA examinations. Upon completion, learners will be eligible to obtain a Remote Pilot Certificate (RPC), enabling them to operate drones legally and professionally within South Africa.

Minimum Requirements

  • South African citizen

  • Aged between 18 and 23 years

  • Must be residing in Gauteng Province

  • Must have matriculated in Gauteng at a Quintile 1–3 school only

  • English: Minimum Level 5

  • Mathematics: Minimum Level 4, or Mathematics Literacy Level 5

  • Willingness to undergo an Aviation Medical Examination

  • Strong communication, judgment, and decision-making skills

  • Good hand–eye coordination and ability to multitask

  • Technically minded with a strong safety orientation

  • Culturally sensitive and able to work in diverse environments
