Job Overview
Capitec is seeking a skilled Forensic Investigator (Insurance) to investigate fraud-related incidents within its insurance operations.
Working under the guidance of the investigations manager, the successful candidate will handle matters involving claims fraud, internal fraud, serious breaches of policies and procedures, and criminal syndicates.
This role requires strong investigative expertise, evidence gathering capabilities, and the ability to support disciplinary hearings and criminal proceedings while identifying control weaknesses and recommending preventative measures.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate insurance claims fraud incidents
- Conduct forensic reviews into internal fraud cases
- Investigate policy breaches and misconduct matters
- Gather and preserve evidence for hearings and legal proceedings
- Prepare investigation reports and findings
- Support disciplinary and criminal cases
- Identify control weaknesses and risk gaps
- Recommend fraud prevention measures
- Develop training initiatives to strengthen fraud awareness
- Work with stakeholders to improve internal controls
- Support investigations involving criminal syndicates
Qualifications
Education
Minimum:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Forensics or related field
Experience
Minimum:
- 3+ years’ experience as a Forensic Investigator or Forensic Auditor
Preferred:
- Proven experience in the financial services sector
- Insurance fraud investigations experience
- Experience preparing evidence for disciplinary and legal proceedings
