๐ Position Overview
Sappi, a leading global provider of sustainable Woodfibre products, seeks a Forester to implement operational estate management and achieve fibre production targets. This role ensures a sustainable supply of fibre while complying with Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) standards.

๐ Key Responsibilities

๐ฑ Land & Crop Management: Prepare land and implement re-establishment according to planning recommendations, achieving stocking targets within budget.

๐ Field Inspections: Conduct weekly inspections to identify risks, manage pest control, and maintain silvicultural standards.

๐ Production & Planning: Monitor daily production targets, conduct pre-harvest risk assessments, and implement annual operational plans.

๐ก Compliance & Safety: Ensure all operations meet legislative, company, and service level agreement standards.

๐ Infrastructure & Asset Management: Maintain company assets, housing, roads, depots, and vehicle fleet within budget and standards.

๐ค Stakeholder & Contractor Management: Build and maintain professional relationships with contractors, communities, and internal/external stakeholders to uphold company image and operational efficiency.

๐ฅ Fire Risk Management: Implement fire control procedures using the Fire Risk Management System (FRMS).
๐ Minimum Qualifications

National Diploma in Forestry, Agriculture, or Horticulture

Valid driverโs license

Up to 1 year of relevant forestry or agriculture experience

Strong understanding of silvicultural practices and estate management

Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in forestry

Ability to conduct inspections, risk assessments, and monitor contractor performance

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders
