The Role: Freelance Form F Assessor

As a Freelance Form F Assessor, you will be responsible for conducting Foster Carers’ Form F assessments for individuals and families applying to become foster carers. This role is home-based, giving you the flexibility to work independently while contributing to the welfare of children in care.

In this role, you will assess the suitability of applicants to foster children, ensure all necessary checks are carried out, and provide comprehensive reports that align with regulatory standards. You will be working closely with potential foster carers, guiding them through the application process while ensuring high standards and accuracy.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct Form F Assessments for potential foster carers, ensuring that all reports are thorough and completed to a high standard.
  • Provide guidance and support to applicants throughout the assessment process, helping them understand the requirements and expectations of becoming foster carers.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant fostering regulations and standards.
  • Work independently, managing your own caseload and adhering to deadlines.
  • Provide clear and accurate reports and assessments within set time frames.
  • Support the recruitment and retention of foster carers, ensuring their ongoing training and development.

Essential Criteria

To be considered for the role of Freelance Form F Assessor, you will need:

  • Qualified Social Worker (DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent).
  • Current registration with the relevant Social Work regulatory body (e.g., Social Work England, Social Work Wales, NISCC, or SSSC).
  • Experience in conducting Form F Assessments and a strong understanding of fostering regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your time effectively.
  • Strong communication and report writing skills.
  • Passionate about safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
