🎯 Purpose of the Role

The Freight Forwarder will handle end-to-end export coordination, ensuring accurate planning, timely shipment execution, documentation compliance, and proactive communication with all stakeholders. The role plays a critical part in maintaining service quality within DSV’s Contract Logistics and Freight Forwarding operations.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

📦 Export Operations Management

• Oversee and manage all export shipments from creation to final dispatch.

• Update and maintain the Shipping Register daily, highlighting deviations or delays.

• Create export files and transactions within WinFreight.

• Review documents generated via SAP to ensure accuracy before processing.

• Ensure all orders are shipped in full and within customer lead times.

📄 Documentation & Compliance

• Prepare, verify, and submit export documentation including:

  • Commercial invoices

  • Packing lists

  • Clearing instructions

• Ensure compliance with Incoterms, export regulations, and country-specific requirements.

• Reduce unnecessary shipment charges by ensuring documentation accuracy and routing compliance.

📊 Communication & Customer Support

• Provide daily shipment updates to clients and internal teams.

• Liaise with freight forwarders, carriers, dealers, and customers regularly.

• Attend to all queries promptly and provide solutions to exceptions and claims.

• Maintain a high level of professional communication via email and telephone.

🔍 Quality, Reporting & Continuous Improvement

• Conduct investigations on queries, deviations, and claims.

• Ensure adherence to DSV procedures, work instructions, and performance objectives.

• Assist with process improvements and contribute to operational efficiency.

• Participate in all administrative tasks related to logistics and warehouse operations.

🎓 Education

• Matric (Grade 12)

• Additional logistics or supply chain qualifications advantageous

💻 Computer Skills
