🎯 Purpose of the Job

The Frontshop Controller plays a key role in ensuring smooth in-store operations, excellent customer engagement, accurate payment handling, and high product merchandising standards. The role requires someone energetic, customer-driven, and able to maintain a clean, organised, and visually appealing store environment.

🛒 Key Job Objectives

💳 Customer Transactions & POS Management

• Process customer payments accurately using the Point of Sale (POS) system.

• Balance daily sales, receipts, and payment records as per company procedures.

• Handle refunds, exchanges, and payment queries professionally.

🛍️ Retail Sales & Customer Service

• Greet customers warmly and identify their needs.

• Provide informed product recommendations and maintain updated product knowledge.

• Stay aware of promotions, special offers, and new product launches.

• Resolve customer queries and escalate issues to management when required.

🧹 Store Standards & Merchandising

• Restock shelves and maintain attractive visual displays.

• Conduct regular price audits and correct discrepancies.

• Ensure proper housekeeping and maintain a clean, organised sales floor.

• Assist with stock receiving and follow merchandising SOPs.

🎓 Minimum Qualifications

• ✔️ Grade 12 (Matric) – Essential

🧪 Experience Required

• ✔️ Minimum 5 months POS/till experience in a retail store

• ✔️ Proven experience on the sales floor and cash counter

🧠 Knowledge & Skills

• Strong customer service knowledge

• Understanding of stock receiving and merchandising standards

• Computer literate

• Fluent in Afrikaans and English (preferred)

• Friendly, engaging personality

• Ability to handle payments (cash, cards, vouchers, coupons, etc.)

• Excellent communication skills

• Strong attention to detail

• Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
