Role Overview
The Alternative Investments Fund Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial integrity of alternative investment portfolios including private equity, private credit, and real estate assets. You will oversee fund accounting operations, client cashflows, and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with industry regulations.
This role demands collaboration with portfolio managers, auditors, regulatory bodies, and service providers to ensure transparent financial management and effective investment decisions.
Key Responsibilities

Manage investment payaway processes, interest calculations, and client cashflow updates accurately.

Maintain detailed financial records for alternative investment vehicles ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Prepare and review financial statements, fee recoveries, and investment performance calculations.

Stay updated on regulatory changes and industry best practices to maintain compliance.

Collaborate with portfolio managers, auditors, and compliance teams to resolve discrepancies and optimize fund operations.

Provide clear financial insights to stakeholders to support strategic decision-making.

Ensure timely and accurate fund accounting deliverables and reports.

Support continuous improvement in processes, systems, and controls within fund accounting.
Qualifications & Experience

BCom Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in fund accounting or alternative investments.

Strong knowledge of alternative investment vehicles including private equity, private credit, and real estate.

Proficient understanding of financial reporting, controls, and compliance requirements.
