We are now looking for a Gathering Unit Operator to join our Bindery Department, contributing to the seamless finishing and binding process of our printed materials.

🧰 Role Overview: Gathering Unit Operator

This role is critical in ensuring that books and printed materials are correctly assembled, bound, and meet the highest production standards. You’ll be responsible for setting up and operating gathering and trimming units, monitoring equipment, and ensuring top-tier quality output.

You’ll report directly to the Shift Leader and work within a skilled production team.

✅ Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret job cards and setup specifications

• Operate and adjust the gathering and trimming unit

• Ensure all products meet required quality control standards

• Complete production checklists and logs

• Examine books and determine appropriate binding methods

• Observe machine operations and report any malfunctions

• Perform basic preventative maintenance on bindery machinery

• Adhere to all health and safety protocols

• Provide general assistance across machines when needed

📚 Qualifications & Experience

• Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification

• 1–2 years of experience in a bindery or finishing environment

• Previous experience in a Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) print setting is a plus

• 2–3 years as a gathering unit operator is highly advantageous
