As a General Legal Advisor, you will offer legal advisory services across KPMG’s business units (Audit, Advisory, and Tax & Legal). Your primary responsibility is to mitigate legal risks, ensure contract integrity, and support regulatory compliance.

📌 Key Responsibilities

🧾 Legal Advisory:

• Provide practical legal guidance on matters affecting the firm’s operations.

• Interpret and apply KPMG policies and regulatory frameworks.

📃 Contract Management:

• Draft, review, and negotiate standard legal agreements (e.g., NDAs, SLAs, client contracts).

• Assess RFQs/RFPs and advise internal teams on risk and compliance.

⚖️ Risk Management:

• Support the broader Quality and Risk Management team on legal and compliance matters.

• Advise on and assist in mitigating legal risk within the business environment.

🛠️ Ad hoc Responsibilities:

• Participate in special integration projects (Southern Africa and One Africa initiatives).

• Carry out legal research and provide written opinions as needed.

• Handle day-to-day tasks and unplanned legal issues efficiently.

✅ Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from a recognized institution

Professional Status:

• Admitted Attorney (South Africa)

Experience:

• 2–3 years post-admission experience in a legal or compliance-focused role

• Strong background in corporate and commercial law

Technical Skills:

• Proficient in Microsoft Word

• Exceptional drafting, interpretation, and research skills
