πŸš€ What You’ll Do

As the Government Relations Adviser, you’ll support Shell’s business success by creating and delivering optimal business value while elevating Shell’s reputation in the eyes of government stakeholders.

βœ… Key Responsibilities:

βœ” Build and maintain credibility with key government departments and stakeholders
βœ” Support on advocacy strategies that influence energy and climate policies
βœ” Develop business advocacy plans that align with Shell’s Powering Progress Strategy
βœ” Track and analyze policy developments and regulatory risks
βœ” Create platforms to promote Shell’s energy vision
βœ” Facilitate strong stakeholder dialogue with government, Think Tanks, and the private sector
βœ” Engage at national, provincial, and local government levels for non-operated and owned assets
βœ” Ensure adherence to government transparency standards and Shell’s internal codes
βœ” Advise global Shell teams on developments in South African policy
βœ” Provide strategic insight for Shell’s local and regional corporate relations plans


🧠 What We’re Looking For

πŸŽ“ Qualifications & Experience:

βœ” Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Politics, Business Management, or related
βœ” 8+ years of experience across business, government, or external relations
βœ” Strong communication (verbal & written) and influencing skills
βœ” Understanding of governance frameworks, public policy, and energy markets
βœ” Capacity to work with complexity and manage multiple stakeholder relationships
βœ” Experience in crisis and issues management is advantageous
