🔍 Key Responsibilities:

✅ Build and maintain trusted relationships with key government stakeholders, regulators, and policy-makers
✅ Support the business in navigating complex legislative and regulatory environments
✅ Represent Shell’s interests in public policy discussions and forums
✅ Monitor and assess political, economic, and regulatory developments that could affect the business
✅ Provide strategic advice to internal teams on government-related risks and opportunities
✅ Collaborate with other corporate functions such as Legal, Communications, and Compliance to ensure unified stakeholder messaging

🧠 Ideal Candidate Profile:

✔ Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, Law, or related field (Master’s preferred)
✔ Minimum 5 years’ experience in government relations, regulatory affairs, or public policy
✔ Deep understanding of South African government structure, policy-making processes, and political landscape
✔ Strong existing network within government and public sector circles
✔ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
✔ Proven ability to develop strategic plans and execute lobbying or advocacy campaigns
✔ High level of integrity, professionalism, and cultural awareness
✔ Ability to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders
