Purpose of the Role:
As a Graduate Accountant, you will be responsible for a wide range of accounting tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of the finance department. From daily cash flow management to month-end reconciliations, you will gain exposure to various areas of financial operations, making it an ideal role for career development.
Key Responsibilities:
🧾 Bank Account Management
- Manage all bank accounts and ensure sufficient funds for payments.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Reconcile daily store monetary movements to the bank statement as per SOP RT-DYENDCNT-006.
💰 Cash Flow & Payments
- Prepare and update the daily cash flow schedule.
- Load payments onto FNB or Standard Bank platforms, ensuring approval from the relevant stakeholders.
- Address cash flow discrepancies and communicate with the CFO to resolve any issues.
📊 Fixed Asset Management
- Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register.
- Calculate depreciation and ensure CAPEX invoices align with the budget.
- Resolve any discrepancies between the Fixed Asset Register and the general ledger.
📈 Reconciliations & Financial Reporting
- Prepare and manage balance sheet reconciliations.
- Ensure sales reconciliations match bank accounts, resolving any variances.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and year-end audit files.
🔍 Financial Analysis & Forecasting
- Measure actual cash flows versus forecasted cash flows.
- Assist in the preparation of financial analysis, budget plans, and forecasts.
- Contribute to the improvement of internal controls and financial processes.
Minimum Requirements:
✅ Educational Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Finance or related field.
- Minimum average of 70% in your degree program.
✅ Skills and Competencies
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive mindset.
