Job Overview
This Graduate Technical Support Specialist role is a 12-month fixed-term internship based in Cape Town. The position is ideal for recent graduates seeking hands-on experience in telecommunications, IT service delivery, and SaaS client support.
The role focuses on providing high-quality technical and operational support to 1Nebula clients, ensuring service requests and incidents are resolved efficiently, professionally, and in line with client expectations. Graduates will gain exposure to real-world telecoms infrastructure, vendor management, service improvement initiatives, and product development activities.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage incidents and service requests through investigation, resolution, and escalation
• Perform change control activities where required
• Communicate system failures and incidents to IT management forums
• Provide technical input during operational, project, and client meetings
• Compile reports and operational documentation as required by clients
• Support system programming and configuration tasks
• Manage and test video and teleconferencing systems regularly
• Advise clients on bandwidth and telecommunications infrastructure requirements
• Meet all project timelines agreed with clients and internal teams
• Contribute to telecoms knowledge sharing and training initiatives
• Actively develop technical knowledge through research and continuous learning
• Convert client requirements into telecoms and product requirements
• Support feasibility studies for new products and services
• Provide input into telecoms system design and architecture
• Identify and recommend system improvements to drive cost savings and added value
• Liaise with service providers and manage vendor relationships
• Analyse vendor performance statistics and recommend improvements
• Maintain accurate asset and site data registers
Qualifications
Education
• Relevant tertiary degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field
• ICT certification in telecommunications technologies
Experience
• Graduate or entry-level candidates encouraged to apply
• Exposure to telecoms, IT support, or service delivery environments is advantageous
Skills
• CISCO certifications (essential)
• CCNA – Basic Cisco Networking (WAN & LAN)
• CCNP
• Cisco VoIP
• PABX systems
• Video conferencing technologies
• Basic understanding of cloud services
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
