Job Overview

The Graphic Designer (Marketing & Store Design) role supports JD Sports’ marketing, retail, and store development initiatives across the Western Cape. The position focuses on delivering visually compelling, brand-consistent creative assets for store interiors and exteriors, digital platforms, e-commerce, and marketing campaigns. The role also involves technical design, spatial planning support, and close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure high-quality execution aligned with global JD brand standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Utilise existing global JD Sports graphics to create and adapt artwork for new store interiors and exteriors while maintaining brand consistency

  • Design and optimise creative content for e-commerce platforms and social media channels

  • Develop artwork for tactical marketing campaigns and resize assets for digital, in-store, and out-of-home platforms

  • Produce technical drawings and support spatial and store design projects

  • Edit video content for marketing and promotional campaigns

  • Collaborate with e-commerce, store development, and marketing teams to deliver integrated creative solutions

  • Ensure all creative work meets agreed timelines, quality standards, and production requirements

  • Liaise with internal departments including JD Global and TFG teams across retail, marketing, merchandising, and multichannel

  • Coordinate with external architects, planning authorities, and consultants to support statutory approvals


Qualifications

Education

  • Degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, or a related field

Experience

  • Proven experience in graphic and technical design within a retail environment

  • Experience applying industrial design principles

  • Background in creating content for social media and marketing campaigns

  • Familiarity with e-commerce design requirements

  • Experience working within the signage industry

Skills

  • Strong graphic design skills, including motion video editing

  • Technical drawing and spatial design expertise

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects)

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Understanding of printing processes and production requirements

  • Ability to generate 3D renders using SketchUp and V-Ray

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
