About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and strategic Group Human Resources Manager to oversee and drive all HR operations across our national business units. This is an opportunity for a visionary HR leader to align business goals with HR strategy and contribute significantly to our continued growth and success.

This role calls for a strong generalist HR background with proven leadership experience, particularly in complex, fast-paced, and industrial environments such as manufacturing, production, or engineering.


Key Responsibilities:

Strategic HR Leadership:

  • Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with overall business objectives.

  • Partner with executive leadership to drive transformation, talent management, and organisational change initiatives.

  • Lead the development of policies that foster a high-performance culture and employee engagement.

People Management & Development:

  • Build a high-performing HR team and provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship.

  • Implement workforce planning, succession planning, and skills development strategies.

  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.

Talent Acquisition & Retention:

  • Oversee all aspects of recruitment, from employer branding to executive hires.

  • Develop and refine retention strategies to reduce turnover and improve employee satisfaction.

  • Ensure fair and inclusive hiring practices.

Performance & Employee Relations:

  • Drive performance management frameworks, KPIs, and goal-setting initiatives.

  • Manage conflict resolution and maintain a positive working environment.

  • Ensure sound disciplinary processes in line with labor legislation.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Oversee the design and implementation of competitive compensation structures.

  • Align benefits programs with employee needs and market benchmarks.

  • Ensure payroll compliance and reporting accuracy.

HR Governance & Compliance:

  • Maintain compliance with all HR-related statutory and legal requirements.

  • Prepare for and lead internal and external HR audits.

  • Ensure HR systems and documentation meet the standards of POPIA and other legislation.

HR Analytics & Reporting:

  • Leverage data and analytics to drive decision-making and track HR metrics.

  • Present regular HR dashboards and reports to senior leadership.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, or related field (postgraduate qualification preferred)

  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 in a senior HR leadership role

  • Proven experience in industrial, engineering, or manufacturing environments

  • In-depth knowledge of South African labor legislation and HR compliance

  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and strategic thinking skills
