Are you a seasoned Hatchery Manager with proven expertise in poultry operations? Supreme Poultry is seeking a motivated and highly skilled Hatchery Manager to lead its operations in Lichtenburg, North West. This role is designed for someone who is detail-driven, results-focused, and thrives in a leadership position that demands precision, accountability, and people management.

You’ll take charge of the daily running of the hatchery facility to ensure the production of high-quality day-old chicks at the right quantity and at the lowest cost — while meeting all health, safety, and biosecurity standards.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

As the Hatchery Manager, you will oversee the following:

• Full day-to-day management of hatchery operations.

• Maintain consistent production planning – including egg planning, setting, transfer, hatching, and order fulfillment.

• Monitor and maintain hatchery equipment and coordinate repairs and maintenance activities.

• Uphold biosecurity protocols and ensure strict compliance with health and safety regulations.

• Manage hatch schedules efficiently and ensure accurate order fulfillment.

• Provide direct supervision, coaching, and development of all hatchery staff.

• Use advanced hatchery systems (e.g., Chick Master, Petersime, PasReform, Eggsactly) for monitoring and optimization.

• Support planning for egg delivery, loading of trucks, and logistical coordination.

• Continuously seek to optimize hatchery performance and minimize operational costs.

✅ Minimum Requirements

We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on professional who understands the importance of high-quality poultry production.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Grade 12 / National Certificate (Tertiary education in Agriculture or Animal Sciences is a strong advantage).

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Hatchery Management role.

• Deep knowledge of hatchery operations and poultry embryology/physiology.

• Proven record of achieving consistent and efficient hatch results.

• Solid understanding of hatchery maintenance and production systems.

Critical Competencies:

• Strong leadership, team coordination, and people skills.

• High attention to detail and a methodical, systematic approach.

• Strong decision-making and problem-solving ability.

• Fully computer literate, especially in MS Excel.

• Familiar with industry-specific software including Chick Master, Petersime, PasReform, and Eggsactly.

• Commitment to high standards in biosecurity and safety protocols.
