🎯 Role Overview

MRI Software is looking for an experienced HelpDesk & Infrastructure Support Technician to provide Level 1 & 2 IT support, manage system maintenance, and support technical projects. The role is based in Johannesburg and requires in-office presence with rotational shifts.


πŸ› οΈ Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver support via phone, email, and ticketing tools

  • Troubleshoot issues with desktops, laptops, mobile devices (Windows required, Mac is a plus)

  • Deploy and configure workstations and IT equipment

  • Administer Active Directory, Office 365, VPN, and remote access systems

  • Manage VMware and Azure-based virtual machines

  • Monitor and maintain internal networks, servers, and firewalls

  • Assist with vulnerability management and security tools

  • Handle inventory and asset management

  • Maintain documentation, SOPs, and system configurations

  • Participate in IT infrastructure projects


βœ… Qualifications & Skills

Minimum Requirements:

  • 4+ years’ experience in Help Desk/Desktop Support

  • Strong understanding of Windows OS, Active Directory, Office 365

  • Experience with VMware, Azure, and cloud infrastructure

  • Networking knowledge: IP addressing, DNS, routing, switching

  • Familiarity with ticketing systems like ServiceNow or Freshdesk

  • Basic server and security tools knowledge

  • Excellent troubleshooting and interpersonal skills

Preferred:

  • Exposure to SQL/Web Servers and certificate management

  • Experience with SFTP and backup tools

  • Hands-on cabling experience (Cat 5/5e/6)
