Job Overview
Protea Hotel by Marriott Breakwater Lodge Waterfront is seeking an experienced Executive Housekeeper to oversee daily housekeeping operations, including guest rooms, public areas, recreation facilities, and laundry services where applicable. The role is responsible for maintaining exceptional cleanliness standards, leading teams, managing costs, and ensuring outstanding guest and employee satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily housekeeping shift operations and ensure compliance with brand standards

Ensure timely and accurate communication of room status to the Front Desk

Coordinate with Engineering on maintenance and EIWO (Everything In Working Order) issues

Supervise cleaning schedules for guestrooms, public areas, and employee spaces
-
Conduct inspections and hold teams accountable for corrective actions

Manage inventory of cleaning supplies, linen, uniforms, and equipment

Control departmental expenses in line with approved budgets

Respond to and resolve guest complaints professionally and efficiently

Lead, coach, and develop housekeeping staff through training and performance feedback

Support recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and disciplinary processes

Promote sustainability practices, safety standards, and preventive maintenance
Qualifications
Education
-
High School Certificate with a minimum of 5 years’ housekeeping experience OR
-
3-year degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel & Restaurant Management, Business Administration, or related field
Experience
-
Proven leadership experience within housekeeping or hotel operations

Experience managing teams, inspections, and departmental budgets
Skills & Competencies

Strong leadership and people management skills

Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

Knowledge of housekeeping systems, inventory control, and cleaning standards

Financial acumen and cost management capability

Ability to work under pressure in a guest-focused environment

Computer literacy and basic reporting skills
