About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and strategic HR Business Partner (HRBP) to join our dynamic team in Thekweni. As an HRBP, you will play a vital role in aligning people strategies with business goals, enhancing performance, and driving change across the organization. Your focus will include workforce planning, talent management, HR service delivery, employee relations, and leadership coaching.

You will partner with plant and regional managers to implement HR best practices and foster a high-performance culture that supports our organizational strategy.


Key Responsibilities

✅ Strategic HR & Workforce Planning

  • Align HR plans with the business’s SIA (Strategy Into Action) targets.

  • Forecast and monitor staffing and talent needs.

  • Adjust workforce strategies to support operational changes.

✅ Talent Acquisition & Performance

  • Lead recruitment, selection, and onboarding.

  • Implement and analyze performance appraisal systems.

  • Support succession planning and employment equity initiatives.

✅ Learning & Development

  • Identify training needs through staff feedback and trends.

  • Facilitate mentoring, coaching, and leadership development programs.

  • Evaluate impact of training on business performance.

✅ HR Operations & Service Delivery

  • Champion HR best practices across business units.

  • Train and coach managers on HR policies, procedures, and diversity.

  • Ensure quality HR service delivery and manage vendor relationships.

✅ Employee & Industrial Relations

  • Guide managers on conflict resolution, grievances, and misconduct.

  • Build positive relationships with unions, government, and regulatory bodies.

  • Ensure compliance with labour laws and regulations.

✅ Organisational Change & Communication

  • Lead HR initiatives and support organisational change management.

  • Foster staff involvement through structured communication plans.

  • Act as a catalyst for workforce modernisation and redesign.

✅ Leadership Coaching

  • Coach plant/regional managers in people leadership.

  • Equip leaders with tools to manage effective, high-performing teams.

  • Drive a culture of support, collaboration, and performance.

✅ Reporting & Compliance

  • Prepare management and statutory HR reports.

  • Monitor and address compliance and legal issues.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Human Resource Management

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as an HR Generalist (1+ years in an advisory capacity)

  • Valid Code EB driver’s licence
