Purpose of the Role

The HR Intern will assist the HR team with a variety of administrative tasks, supporting day-to-day HR operations to ensure smooth and effective processes. This role is perfect for someone eager to gain valuable HR experience and develop a deep understanding of HR administration, policies, and compliance.


Key Responsibilities

As an HR Intern, you will support HR operations in the following key areas:

Recruitment & Onboarding: Assist with the recruitment process, onboarding new employees, and managing offboarding procedures. Help coordinate documentation and induction programs for new hires.
Employee Engagement: Attend Employee Engagement meetings, support surveys (Your Voice and Pulse), and coordinate wellness programs on-site.
HR Administration: Be the first point of contact for employee queries regarding HR systems (e.g., Workday, MyHub), medical aid, banking details, etc.
Reporting & Documentation: Support the team in preparing monthly Workday reports, including information on leave, new joiners, terminations, and performance management.
People & Communication: Help consolidate people-related information for business communications, and manage the Long Service Recognition process, including certificates and communications.
HR Projects: Provide administrative support for ongoing HR initiatives, leadership development, and training activities.


Qualifications & Skills

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

🎓 Education:

  • A degree in Human Resources or Industrial Psychology.

💼 Experience:

  • At least 1+ year of functional HR experience (internship or practical experience is acceptable).

🔧 Skills:

  • Strong organizational and coordination skills.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information with discretion.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a focus on results.
  • A proactive approach and the ability to respond quickly to challenges and opportunities.
  • Ability to build relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
