The Council for Geoscience (CGS) is inviting unemployed South African graduates to apply for three (3) exciting Human Resources Internship positions at its Head Office in Pretoria. This 24-month structured programme offers a valuable opportunity to gain real-world HR experience within a dynamic, public sector environment.
This internship is ideal for individuals who are passionate about employee development, organisational processes, and building their HR skills in compliance, payroll, recruitment, and employee wellness.

To be considered for this internship, you must meet the following criteria:

Grade 12 / Matric Certificate

NQF Level 5 qualification in:

Human Resources Management
-
Human Resources Development
-
Or an equivalent field
-

No previous work experience required

Strong understanding of:

Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA)

Labour Relations Act (LRA)

Employment Equity Act (EEA)

Skills Development Act (SDA)

π Key Responsibilities
During the internship, you will support the HR team in a variety of functions:
Recruitment Support:
-
Screening of applications
-
Interview scheduling
-
Preparation of recruitment packs and onboarding documentation
HR Administration:
-
Assisting with payroll and employee benefits
-
File management and maintenance of HR databases
-
Organising meetings, wellness days, and other events
Learning & Development:
-
Supporting internal training programmes and tracking participation
-
Assisting with bursary and internship coordination
Employee Relations & HR Projects:
-
Supporting performance management processes
-
Assisting with employee wellness projects
-
Ensuring alignment with ISO standards and HR compliance policies
