🌟 Role Overview

The HR Intern will provide essential administrative and operational support to the HR team, ensuring efficient employee lifecycle management. This role is ideal for a motivated graduate who is passionate about HR operations, employee engagement, training coordination, and compliance processes.

You will work directly with the HR Manager, gaining hands-on experience in:

  • HR systems

  • Recruitment support

  • Performance management

  • Payroll coordination

  • Workforce data management

  • Training administration

πŸ› οΈ Key Responsibilities

πŸ“„ General HR Administration

  • Maintain employee files, confidential records, and HR documentation.

  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes.

  • Assist with employee changes, terminations, benefits, leave audits, and HR queries.

  • Prepare monthly HR reports and quarterly review submissions.

  • Manage HR correspondence and communication across business units.

🧾 Payroll & HR Systems Support

  • Communicate payroll deadlines and ensure accurate payroll inputs.

  • Initiate SAP workflows (recruitment, changes, terminations, allowances, overtime).

  • Maintain payroll tracker and verify monthly payroll variance changes.

  • Conduct integrity checks and data audits on HRIS systems.

πŸŽ“ Learning & Development (L&D)

  • Track training activities and submit data to L&D.

  • Support WSP, ATR, and Employment Equity submissions.

  • Coordinate induction sessions, workshops, and BU training.

  • Assist employees and managers with general training enquiries.

πŸ“Š Performance Management Administration

  • Collate IPAs (goal setting, mid-year reviews, year-end reviews).

  • Maintain status trackers and store documents on HR drives.

  • Support line managers in understanding performance processes.

🀝 Transformation & EE Administration

  • Provide data for BBBEE reporting and management packs.

  • Coordinate EE meetings and prepare minutes.

βš–οΈ Industrial Relations (IR) Support

  • Assist with documentation for disciplinary hearings and grievances.

  • Attend hearings when required and assist with minute-taking.

  • Maintain SAP records for IR cases.

  • Assist with B- and C-band interviews when required.

  • Support onboarding, document tracking, and communication with Talent Acquisition.

  • Draft appointment letters and manage termination workflows.

  • Conduct exit interviews and share feedback with line managers.
