We are currently seeking an HR Officer II to join our dynamic HR Logistics team at Clicks Montague Gardens DC in Cape Town. This role will report directly to the ER/HR Manager and support the operational aspects of HR initiatives to ensure the alignment of HR practices with business strategies.
Job Overview
The HR Officer II will play a key role in maintaining and implementing HR initiatives at the operational level, ensuring consistent and effective management of recruitment, talent retention, and industrial relations (IR) activities. This role will involve close collaboration with department managers, employees, unions, and other stakeholders to foster a positive work environment and ensure that HR practices comply with company policies and legislative requirements.
Key Responsibilities
✔ Recruitment & Onboarding: Manage the full recruitment cycle, from sourcing candidates to onboarding. Work with department managers to define job requirements and ensure timely hiring.
✔ Performance & HR Analytics: Analyze performance data to inform HR practices and identify areas for training or development. Generate and interpret HR metrics such as turnover, headcount, and leave utilization.
✔ Industrial Relations: Assist in handling IR issues in compliance with policies and legislation. Support with CCMA and arbitration cases as required.
✔ Stakeholder Communication: Coordinate with management, employees, and unions to ensure smooth communication and effective resolution of HR-related queries.
✔ HR Records & Data Management: Maintain accurate HR records, employee databases, and data analysis for compliance and reporting purposes.
✔ Reporting: Prepare monthly HR reports and ad hoc reports for stakeholders, providing insights into HR metrics to facilitate decision-making.
✔ Support HR Projects: Assist in the implementation of HR projects and initiatives that align with the business unit’s strategic goals.
✔ Employee Engagement & Culture: Contribute to the development and maintenance of a performance-driven culture, ensuring superior customer service and HR support across all departments.
Minimum Qualifications
✔ Education: A 3-year tertiary qualification (BA, B Comm (HR), B Soc Sc, B. Ed, B. Bus Science) is essential, with a preference for qualifications in HR Analytics or Business Analytics.
✔ Experience:
- 2-3 years of generalist HR experience in a retail environment.
- Experience in IR, recruitment, payroll, and HR administration.
- Proficient in SAP HCM and Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
✔ Skills: - Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict management skills.
- Attention to detail, analytical abilities, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Customer service orientation and the ability to work with people at all levels.
✔ Competencies: - Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Ability to cope with pressure and setbacks.
- Decision-making, initiative, and action-oriented.
- Ability to adapt and respond to change in a fast-paced environment.
