🎯 Role Overview

The HR Officer plays a critical role in supporting HR operations within a high-volume Contact Centre environment. You will manage recruitment activities, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, and statutory HR reporting. This role requires a confident HR professional who can balance employee support with organisational needs, while upholding labour law and company standards.

You will act as a trusted advisor to managers and staff, helping to build a positive workplace culture and ensuring fair, compliant processes across the employee lifecycle.

πŸ‘₯ HR Operations & Employee Support

  • Serve as the primary HR contact for employees and managers across the Cape Town site.

  • Ensure compliance with HR policies, labour legislation, and company processes.

  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all HR-related documentation and communication.

πŸ”Ž Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Manage recruitment processes for contact centre roles.

  • Coordinate interviews, assessments, onboarding, and new hire documentation.

  • Ensure a smooth, engaging onboarding experience for employees.

πŸ§‘β€βš–οΈ Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Guide managers through performance concerns, disciplinary procedures, and labour law requirements.

  • Support and participate in CCMA-related processes where applicable.

  • Provide advice on policy interpretation and staff grievances.

  • Prepare and submit statutory HR reports and site-level HR documentation.

  • Track HR metrics such as headcount, absenteeism, attrition, and disciplinary outcomes.

  • Maintain updated and accurate employee records.

  • Strong understanding of South African labour law.

  • Ability to manage large-scale HR operations (250+ employees).

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-handling skills.

  • Exceptional organisational, problem-solving, and confidentiality skills.

  • Capable of working in a fast-paced, high-pressure Contact Centre environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR / relevant HR qualification (essential).

  • Prior experience in a BPO or Contact Centre HR environment (required).

  • Experience with disciplinary processes and CCMA representation.
