🎯 Job Overview

As the HR Operations and Compliance Manager (EMEA), you’ll lead and evolve scalable HR operations and compliance frameworks, focusing on the EMEA region while aligning with global strategy. You’ll be responsible for process optimization, payroll, system integration, vendor management, and complex compliance cases β€” ensuring streamlined and lawful HR service delivery across 17 countries.


βœ… Key Responsibilities

HR Operations

  • Oversee accurate, compliant, and timely payroll and employee administration processes across the EMEA region.

  • Lead a team of 4 HR operations professionals in EMEA and work with counterparts in APAC and the US.

  • Standardize and automate HR and payroll processes, documentation, and policies.

  • Drive data accuracy and systems integration in collaboration with the Reward, Data, and HRIS Manager.

  • Manage global payroll and benefits vendors, ensuring SLA performance and smooth service.

  • Support compensation reviews and provide quality data for HR metrics and reporting.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Monitor EMEA labor legislation and update internal operations accordingly.

  • Handle high-risk cases (e.g., terminations, disputes) in compliance with local labor laws.

  • Conduct internal audits and lead responses to regulatory authorities.

  • Ensure visa/work permit compliance, employee classification, and remote work legislation alignment.

  • Prepare HR documentation for ESG reporting and private equity due diligence readiness.

HR Service Delivery

  • Act as a strategic advisor and escalation point for compliance matters.

  • Guide P&C Partners and People Leaders in navigating operational challenges.

  • Enhance the HR ticketing system and overall service model to improve scalability and responsiveness.


🧾 Required Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years in HR operations, compliance, and payroll across multiple countries.

  • Master’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Law, or similar.

  • Deep understanding of labor laws and HR compliance in Belgium, France, Netherlands, UK, Germany, Romania, and South Africa.

  • Experience in global payroll systems, vendor management, and automation.

  • Strong background in HR systems and reporting tools.


🌟 Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting international audits or due diligence.

  • Familiarity with ESG reporting (e.g., CSRD, EU Taxonomy).

  • Previous work in matrixed, international environments.
