Goldwind is seeking an experienced HSE Officer to join their dynamic team on the Wind Farm project in Mpumalanga. Position Responsibilities:
✔ Monitor Work Areas: Inspect work areas to ensure compliance with contract, National, and site HSE regulations.
✔ Audit Subcontractors: Ensure subcontractors comply with HSE plans, legislative requirements, and safety regulations.
✔ Safety Systems Implementation: Manage and implement health and safety systems and plans, ensuring legal compliance with OHS and MHS Acts, ISO standards, and other legislation.
✔ Risk Assessments: Assist in compiling risk assessments (baseline, issue, continuous) and ensure they are completed and distributed daily.
✔ Training & Inductions: Conduct internal Health & Safety inductions for all employees and contractors.
✔ Safety Performance Monitoring: Oversee safety performance of subcontractors and ensure that no subcontractor works on-site without a valid safety file.
✔ Accident Investigations: Lead investigations and reporting on accidents/incidents to ensure corrective actions are taken.
✔ Emergency Plans: Prepare and communicate the site emergency evacuation plan to supervisors and contractors.
✔ Support Environmental Officer: Assist the environmental officer when required and manage safety inspections.
Qualifications & Skills:
🎓 Educational Requirements:

Diploma or certificate in HSE
-
SACPMP Registration
🛠 Key Skills & Knowledge:
-
Proficient in MS Office
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-
Strong organizational and time management skills
-
Strong understanding of OHS Act, construction regulations, and ISO standards (OHSAS 45001, ISO 14001)

First Aid Level 3 certified
-
Previous experience in construction activities, especially in wind farm and substation operations

Clear criminal record and ability to work under pressure

Ability to manage stress and perform tasks efficiently
Working Relationship:
🤝 As the HSE Officer, you will be an integral part of the project site team. You’ll liaise with Goldwind HQ, contractors, external suppliers, and client representatives to maintain safety standards across the site.
