What You Will Enjoy Doing:
As a Human Resource Manager, you will take charge of managing and localizing ALPLA’s global HR strategies to align with South African operational needs. You will collaborate closely with the Head of HR, Southern Africa, ensuring that HR practices align with business goals, and that compliance is maintained across the board.
Here are some key responsibilities:
✔ HR Strategy and Alignment: Implement global HR strategies tailored to South Africa’s operational needs.
✔ Talent Acquisition and Workforce Planning: Lead recruitment, onboarding, and talent acquisition efforts, focusing on Employment Equity (EE) goals.
✔ Employee Relations: Oversee and manage employee relations, handle disciplinary actions, and resolve labour disputes while ensuring compliance with BCEA and LRA.
✔ CCMA Representation: Represent ALPLA in CCMA processes as required.
✔ Performance Management: Implement effective performance management systems and collaborate with managers for appraisals and goal setting.
✔ Career Development Programs: Lead career development initiatives, focusing on training and succession planning.
✔ Compensation and Benefits: Ensure competitive compensation and benefits packages, and oversee salary reviews.
✔ HR Policy Updates: Review and update HR policies to meet both global standards and local regulations.
✔ Diversity & Inclusion: Drive DEI initiatives and support the development of Employment Equity plans.
✔ Workforce Reporting: Oversee HR data accuracy and prepare regular workforce reports on headcount, turnover, and more.
What Makes You Great:
✔ Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field. A Postgraduate qualification is advantageous.
✔ Experience: 8-10 years of experience in senior HR roles, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership capacity.
✔ Industry Knowledge: Experience in the manufacturing or plastics industry is an advantage.
✔ Professional Certification: South African Board for People Practices (SABPP) Certification.
✔ Technical Skills: Proficiency in HR Information Systems and payroll software (HRIS).
