Job Overview
RPO Recruitment’s client in the manufacturing industry is currently seeking an experienced Human Resources Practitioner to join their team of professionals in their Bellville offices.
Responsibilities
- Job Specification and Design: Assist departmental heads with job specification and design.
- Recruitment Management:
- Post vacancies on internal notice boards.
- Liaise with recruitment agencies and negotiate recruitment costs.
- Screen, select, interview, and conduct reference, criminal, credit, and qualification checks.
- Finalize placements and handle disciplinary notifications.
- Disciplinary Procedures:
- Address disciplinary issues, guide line management, and represent at CCMA and MEIBC.
- Arrange notifications for misconduct and reporting dates.
- Facilitate and document disciplinary and grievance procedures.
- Union Relations:
- Liaise with shop stewards and chair monthly shop steward management meetings.
- Skills Development:
- Fulfill the role of Company Skills Development Facilitator.
- Coordinate the Company’s skills committee and training requirements.
- Conduct training needs analysis, career path counseling, and facilitation.
- Recommend and assist with internal and external training.
- Manage training documentation and expenses.
- Employee Management:
- Enroll new or terminate employees on the facial recognition system.
- Act as a super-user for departmental changes and employee details.
- Assist and coordinate the achievement of the EE Plan and goals.
- Update HR documentation and the company organogram.
- Draft appointment letters and onboard/offboard employees.
- Attend Health & Safety (H&S) meetings.
Requirements
- Experience:
- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar HR Generalist role in the FMCG or Manufacturing industries.
- Education:
- Matric (essential).
- Appropriate tertiary qualification (advantageous).
- Knowledge:
- Legal compliance (BCEA, LRA, COIDA, EEA).
- Organizational structure and processes.
- Familiarity with organograms.
- Skills:
- Good understanding of organizational practices.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
