Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced HVAC BIM Modeller to join our team in Cape Town. In this role, you will collaborate with our engineering team to produce detailed design documentation for HVAC systems across exciting international projects. The ideal candidate will have expertise in using BIM tools to build accurate 3D models, ensuring the highest standards of design accuracy and data management.
Key Responsibilities
- ✔ 3D Digital Build: Use Revit (HVAC) to create accurate 3D models that capture design and related data.
- ✔ Data Integrity: Ensure all necessary metadata is included in the digital models, demonstrating exceptional attention to detail.
- ✔ Model Federation: Ensure timely completion of project phases in accordance with the MIDP and TIDP for effective model federation and data sharing.
- ✔ Efficiency Enhancements: Communicate opportunities for improving project efficiency to the BIM Coordinator and team members.
- ✔ Quality Control: Perform thorough quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of all BIM outputs.
- ✔ Continuous Improvement: Demonstrate ongoing development in technical skills, particularly in software understanding and model quality.
Minimum Requirements
- ✔ Education: Minimum Matric or equivalent, and a recognized Modelling or Draughting qualification.
- ✔ Experience: At least 3 years’ experience as an HVAC BIM Modeller using Revit.
- ✔ Key Skills:
- Proficient in Revit for HVAC (mandatory).
- Familiar with AutoCAD, Dynamo, Grasshopper, and Rhino (advantageous).
- Familiar with BIM360 and Autodesk Construction Cloud (advantageous).
- Experience with modeling chilled water, central cooling, and ventilation systems.
- Strong knowledge of ASHRAE design and construction principles.
- Ability to lead teams and communicate effectively within a collaborative environment.
