🌍 About the Role

Are you passionate about engineering sustainable water infrastructure? AECOM is looking for a Candidate Hydromechanical Engineer to join its dynamic Water business line. You’ll assist in the design and analysis of hydromechanical systems – including gates, penstocks, valves, and pumps – for dams, water treatment plants, pump stations, and hydropower facilities.

This role also forms part of the Candidate Engineer Development Programme, designed to support your professional journey with hands-on mentorship, project exposure, and structured skills development.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

✅ Assist with design and modelling of hydromechanical systems
✅ Produce technical drawings, calculations, and 3D project models
✅ Collaborate with Engineers on interdisciplinary project integration
✅ Conduct technical analysis using tools like AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM
✅ Support equipment selection and specification – valves, gates, pumps
✅ Participate in coordination and design review meetings
✅ Ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards
✅ Support risk assessments and feasibility studies
✅ Troubleshoot existing systems and contribute to optimizations

🎯 Minimum Requirements

📌 BEng/BSc in Mechanical or Hydromechanical Engineering
📌 2–3 years of experience in hydromechanical design
📌 Exposure to water infrastructure, dams, or pump stations preferred
📌 Registered as a Candidate Engineer with ECSA
📌 Familiar with AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, or equivalent design tools
