Key Responsibilities:

1. Desktop & User Support

  • Prioritize and resolve user requests in line with the service catalogue.

  • Log and track incidents using the service desk tools.

  • Diagnose and resolve routine desktop/user issues, escalating where necessary.

  • Deliver responsive IT support to lecturers, staff, and students.

2. Software & Hardware Setup

  • Install desktops, laptops, and authorized software packages.

  • Set up peripherals (printers, monitors, etc.) and ensure optimal functionality.

  • Assist with IT equipment setup in lecture and training venues.

  • Regularly test ICT assets including PCs, audio-visual gear, access points, and telephony.

3. ICT Administration & Maintenance

  • Liaise with service providers for IT equipment upkeep.

  • Maintain asset registers and equipment tracking systems.

  • Organize and secure IT spaces (server room, storeroom).

  • Ensure compliance with data protection laws (POPIA).

  • Train new users on essential software and systems.


Minimum Requirements:

Education:

  • Required: Higher Certificate / NQF Level 5 in A+ and N+

  • Advantageous: Advanced Certificate / Diploma / NQF Level 6 (CCNA1/MCSE/MCTIP)

Experience:

  • At least 1 year in an ICT Support role.

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license (if public transport is not feasible).

  • Flexibility to work ICT shift hours.
