Internship Overview
The Industrial Engineering Intern: Site & Services role is based at the Johannesburg Distribution Centre and forms part of Takealot Group’s structured Internship Programme. This programme rotates across multiple business units, giving interns broad exposure to engineering operations, supply chain processes, and site services management.
This internship is ideal for candidates who are technically inclined, eager to learn, and interested in gaining hands-on experience within a fast-paced, high-volume distribution and logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities

Assist with inventory management of mechanical and electrical spares and tools

Support technicians in maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment within the distribution centre

Monitor and report on unsafe acts, housekeeping issues, and site compliance matters

Participate in data collection, reporting, and analysis to support operational improvements

Collaborate with cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, and site services

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within supply chain and production processes

Maintain accurate records and documentation related to site services activities
Qualifications & Experience

N6 Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline

Recent graduate or final-year student seeking practical workplace exposure

No prior work experience required, making this ideal for entry-level candidates
