Purpose of the Role

The Infrastructure Support Technician is vital in ensuring our clients’ enterprise IT environments run smoothly. You will provide 1st and 2nd line technical support and troubleshooting for servers, networking, and internet-related issues. Your mission is to deliver exceptional support, proactively manage IT infrastructure, and enhance system performance, reliability, and security.


Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting & Support:

    • Respond to technical assistance requests via phone, email, or ticketing system.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents such as server connectivity, DNS, and internet issues.
    • Collaborate with the Infrastructure Technical Leader to identify and fix recurring problems.
  • Infrastructure Management:

    • Provide first-line support for Public Cloud services (M365 & Azure).
    • Manage tasks including disk space management, firmware upgrades, configuration backups, and SSL certificate renewals.
    • Support Windows Servers (Physical/Virtual), Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and virtualization platforms (Microsoft Hyper-V, VMware vSphere).
    • Maintain LAN, WAN, WLAN networks and perimeter UTM firewall appliances (Fortinet, SonicWall, Sophos).
  • Security & Risk Management:

    • Monitor and mitigate infrastructure and cybersecurity risks by following best practices.
    • Stay updated on cybersecurity threats and industry standards to ensure system integrity.
  • Performance Optimization:

    • Assist in analyzing system performance to identify bottlenecks and implement optimization strategies.
    • Support the Infrastructure Support Engineers in enhancing overall system efficiency.
  • Incident Response & Automation:

    • Participate in incident response planning, updating procedures, and escalating major incidents.
    • Identify opportunities to automate routine tasks and streamline workflows through scripting.
  • Communication & Documentation:

    • Maintain detailed records of support tickets, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.
    • Provide regular updates to clients and internal stakeholders, ensuring timely communication.
  • Team Collaboration:

    • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and share best practices.
    • Support cross-functional projects such as system upgrades, migrations, and process improvements.
  • After-Hours & Standby:

    • Participate in the after-hours standby roster to support Cyberlogic’s 24/7 client operations.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • 🎓 Essential Education & Certifications:

    • Microsoft AZ-800: Administering Windows Server Hybrid Core Infrastructure
    • Microsoft AZ-801: Configuring Windows Server Hybrid Advanced Services
    • CompTIA A+ and Network+
    • Fortinet Certified Fundamentals (FCF), Associate (FCA), and Professional (FCP) in Cybersecurity
    • Mimecast Email Security, Cloud Gateway Fundamentals Level 1
  • Experience:

    • 3-5 years in technical support, preferably in a managed services or enterprise IT environment
    • Experience with Windows Server upgrades (2012 R2 to 2019), Exchange Online migration, and cloud deployment/maintenance

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

  • 💻 Technical Skills:

    • Intermediate support of Dell PowerEdge servers, Windows Server OS, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and RADIUS
    • Experience with firewall appliances (FortiGate, SonicWall, Sophos), network switches (HP Procurve, Aruba), and wireless networks (Ubiquity Unifi, Aruba)
    • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (Windows Server Hyper-V, Windows Failover Clustering)
