The Railway Safety Regulator (RSR) is offering an exciting 24-month Internship Programme at its Head Office in Midrand, Waterfall. This internship is a great opportunity for South African graduates to apply their academic knowledge in a real-world setting while developing essential HR skills. The programme is also open to students who need to complete an internship as part of their academic requirements.

At RSR, we are committed to skills development and providing an enriching environment for recent graduates and students. Although the internship does not guarantee full-time employment upon completion, it offers practical, hands-on experience in the HR field, giving you a strong foundation for your future career.


Key Responsibilities

During the 24-month internship, you will:

📚 Gain Practical HR Experience

  • Assist with HR-related administrative tasks, including recruitment, employee onboarding, and staff training.
  • Support HR departments in daily activities to understand key HR functions such as payroll, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives to improve organizational efficiency and employee satisfaction.

📈 Develop HR Skills

  • Learn the ins and outs of Human Resource Management processes, from recruitment to employee development.
  • Gain exposure to Industrial Psychology and its application within a corporate environment.
  • Assist in maintaining HR databases and record keeping, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

🔍 Engage with HR Strategy and Operations

  • Work closely with experienced HR professionals to understand strategic HR functions and decision-making processes.
  • Participate in meetings and workshops designed to improve HR processes and workflows.

Programme Requirements

To be eligible for the Human Resources Internship Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

📜 Qualifications

  • A National Diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial Psychology, or a related field.
  • A Postgraduate Qualification in HR or a related field will be advantageous.

🇿🇦 Eligibility Criteria

  • South African Citizenship is required.
  • First-time internship participants: You must not have participated in any internship programme at any public or private institution before.
  • Required documents for application:
    • A detailed CV
    • A cover letter
    • Certified copies of Identity Document
    • Certified copies of your qualifications
    • SAQA accreditation (if applicable, for foreign qualifications).
