We are currently offering Internship Programme Opportunities at Tsitsikamma National Park, situated in the beautiful Eastern Cape province. This is a fantastic opportunity for young, talented Building or Civil Engineering graduates to gain valuable hands-on experience while contributing to conservation efforts.
Role Overview:
This internship program provides an opportunity for individuals to enhance their knowledge and skills in Building and Civil Engineering while working with the Technical Services Department at Tsitsikamma National Park. Interns will be exposed to various aspects of engineering projects within a conservation-focused environment, allowing them to work on significant infrastructural and engineering tasks.
As an intern, you will have the chance to gain experience in:
- Building and Civil Engineering projects
- Maintenance and technical services within a national park
- Design and development of infrastructure projects
- Project management and site inspections
- Collaboration with other departments to maintain the park’s facilities
Key Responsibilities:
✔ Assisting in Engineering Projects:
Work alongside senior engineers to assist in the design, planning, and execution of civil engineering projects in the park.
✔ Project Management Support:
Support the project management team by coordinating tasks, ensuring timelines are met, and contributing to the planning and maintenance of park infrastructure.
✔ Site Inspections and Surveys:
Participate in on-site inspections, ensuring that all infrastructure work complies with environmental and technical standards.
✔ Documentation and Reporting:
Help in preparing technical documentation, reports, and presentations related to the engineering projects at the park.
✔ Collaborative Work:
Engage with multiple departments within SANParks to assist in the implementation of maintenance and improvement projects at Tsitsikamma.
Qualification Requirements:
✔ Education:
- A Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma (NQF 6/7) in Building Engineering or Civil Engineering from a South African Public Higher Education Institution (HEI).
- Unemployed graduate between the ages of 18-35 years old.
✔ Experience:
- No prior employment or participation in an internship/placement programme.
- Must be a South African Citizen.
✔ Location:
- Must reside in the Eastern Cape Province.
