  • Duration: Not exceeding 18 months

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 (NQF level 4)
  • National Diploma in Office Administration or any tertiary qualification related to the administration discipline (NQF level 6)
  • Must be a resident of the City of Johannesburg
  • Must have never participated in an internship programme before (unless it was unrelated to the candidate’s course of study)

Primary Function:

Provide administrative support to the Office of the Executive Director within the Environmental and Infrastructure Service Department.

Key Learning Areas:

  • Coordinate procedural requirements related to personnel development initiatives.
  • Consolidate and submit mandatory documents such as Individual Learning Plans and Declaration of Interest Forms.
  • Provide administrative support for meetings, including preparation and coordination.
  • Assist with leave management for the Water Management and Biodiversity section.
  • Manage registration, travel, and accommodation arrangements for workshops, seminars, and conferences.
  • Oversee stationery and refreshment supplies for the Directorate, ensuring timely ordering and stock control.
  • Assist with preparing invoices and supporting documents for payments.
  • Coordinate venue bookings and meetings.
  • Support the submission and collation of performance management and skills development documentation.

Leading Competencies:

  • Computer Literacy (Microsoft Word and Excel)
  • Good communication skills
  • Coordination skills

Core Competencies:

  • Basic knowledge of Office Administration concepts and functions
